Due to low attendance we are currently not offering a one year live course.

Last year's one year live courses were recorded and are available on your account.

We are also working on the idea of attending both 1st and 2nd year live sessions to complete in one year. We won't know if this is possible until after the busy exam period.

These run term time. Note our dates might not match your local authorities.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS COVERED EACH WEEK?

CAN I ATTEND ANY LIVE SESSION?

You can attend any live session you wish in the subject(s) you are enrolled for. If you want to ‘dip in and out’ refer to the timetables to find what will be covered that week. You can drop back if you are struggling and move ahead if you need to via the recorded lessons. By the end everyone will have completed the same content.

DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR LIVE SESSIONS?

Before you start the course (live or not) please complete the pre-coursework 'maths for IGCSE science' and 'perfect practicals'. If you cannot complete before the start date aim to finish at your leisure, but do not miss it.

Physics students taking the course in one year via live sessions will need to have completed the crash course in formulas before attending. This is mandatory!

DO I NEED MY VIDEO AND MICROPHONE ON?

No.

Video is optional. Microphones must be off, unless requested otherwise (which is always optional). This avoids disruption.

HOW ARE LIVE SESSIONS STRUCTURED?

A tutor will guide you through the existing video course.

They will work through the existing videos (and sometimes assignments) live. Interactive quizzes may also play a part.

Students will need a pen, pencil, calculator and paper as routine. Occasionally we will ask for more, such as graph paper and optional printed worksheets.

We hope students will feel confident to answer questions the tutor poses in the chat bar. Students will never be 'singled out'.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A LIVE SESSION?

Please complete the pre-recorded video and online assignment for that lesson before attending the next live session.

are sessions recorded?

Yes. You can access recordings on your student account.

IS THERE HOMEWORK?

Yes, this will be the online assignment and possible additional written assignments shown in that week’s folder.

HOW DO I TRACK MY CHILD'S PROGRESS?

1. Ensure they attend the session each week and/or watch the video.

2. Ensure they complete the homework / assignment for that week.

3. Newsletters will be periodically sent out showing you how to track your child's progress via their account.

WHO ARE THE TUTORS?

Dr Steven Hepplestone will take live sessions this academic year. There is often an additional tutor present to answer any live questions Steven misses. She is the course creator, and qualified teacher, Jo.
