MODULAR IGCSE EXAMS
You can now take exams over multiple exam sittings.
Traditionally IGCSE exams are all taken at the same time. They are called linear exams. For each IGCSE there are two papers. IGCSE Science (double award) has three.
Now modular exams have been introduced. This means you can take the exams at completely different times. For example, half the IGCSE in one year and the other half the next year. The exams are called units. IGCSE biology, chemistry and physics have two units each. IGCSE Science (double award) has six.
The content for units is not separated as clearly as we may like. We recommend completing the IGCSE course in full first. Then you can choose if you take both exams at the same time or separate them.
Modular exam dates are the same as linear!
Summer 2027
If you are taking the exams in Summer 2027 here are your final dates.
Double scientists take paper 1 from biology, chemistry and physics.
These are dates and times for the linear course.

Paper 1 11th May 2027 AM Duration: 2 hours
Paper 2 10th Jun 2027 AM Duration: 1 hr 15 mins
CHEMISTRY
Paper 1 18th May 2027 PM Duration: 2 hours
Paper 2 15th Jun 2027 AM Duration: 1 hr 15 mins
PHYSICS
Paper 1 25th May 2027 AM Duration: 2 hours
Paper 2 18th Jun 2027 AM Duration: 1 hr 15 mins
